  • Introduction of the workshop objectives introductions of the participants
  • Discussion of the plan of action for 2006 - 2007
  • Questionnaire application to identify resources, best practices, lessons learnt, strategic opportunities for the working group, most used guidelines / websites, etc. (Dear participants: please think the replies in advance!)
1300-1600 Discussion of the following "hot topics" regarding nutrition of the school age children (SAC)
  • Micronutrients for SAC: which ones, doses, administration, etc
  • Nutrition outcomes for school feeding programme and micro nutrient supplementation, which ones and how to measure these?
  • Complementary activities: deworming, nutrition education, health education, outcomes, synergism, ways to follow up, etc
  • Anthropometry/reference curves for SAC specially during adolescence
  • Others

Each topic will be discussed by a panel of 3 to 4 participants and then by the whole group. The main questions that will guide the discussion are:

  • What we know, What we don't know ?
  • What we know about the best ways to make it work and to make it work at scale?
  • What are the needs to address the above?
