Resolution

A/RES/55/278

Established in 2002 (A/RES/55/278), the United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC) delivers high-quality learning programmes and tailored solutions for UN staff and partners, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to support the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, UN reform, as well as the sustaining peace resolutions. As the only system-wide learning and knowledge institution for UN staff with an inter-agency mandate, UNSSC contributes to a more effective, results-oriented and agile United Nations.

The Staff College is headed by a Director who is appointed by the UN Secretary-General. Its Board of Governors approves the overall work programme and budget. Reflecting the inter-agency mandate of the College, Board Members are made up of senior officials from the CEB's High-level Committee on Programmes (HLCP) and the High-level Committee on Management (HLCM). Board Members are appointed by the UN Secretary-General and serve a two-year term. The UN Deputy Secretary-General or the Secretary-General's Chef de Cabinet chairs the Board.
