HLCM: Duty of Care 26.10.2017

At its 27th session, held in Venice in April 2014, the High-Level Committee on Management (HLCM) agreed to establish a working group, to be chaired by the Under-Secretary-General for Safety and Security (USG, UNDSS), with a Co-Chair to be selected among other HLCM members, to undertake a comprehensive review of the issues raised in UNDSS’ paper titled, “Reconciling Duty of Care in the UN’s Operating Environment.”

HLCM: The machinery of administrative co-ordination 15.06.2016

(1) The body in which the inter-organization consultations required by the agreements are held is the Administrative Committee on Co-ordination (ACC). The members of this Committee are the executive heads of the organizations; the Secretary-General of the UN is the Chairman of ACC. Most reports to ACC are first examined by an "Organizational Committee" this consists of representatives of the executive heads - frequently the senior officials responsible for co-ordination generally.

HLCM: Harmonization of Vacancy Advertisements and Selection Process at Country Level 23.02.2017

The project responds to concerns raised by Delivering as One pilot countries on human resource management related to national staff.  Under the leadership of UNESCO, the project seeks to develop standarize vacancy annoncements, harmonized recruitment criteria and common selection tools and mechanisms.  It will contribute to streamline the sourcing and hiring process of staff locally and increase collaboration among UN agencies at the country level.  Uruguay and Vietnam have been selected as pilot countries.
