Workshop on Minimum Standards in Food Security The next issue of SCN News (December 2001) will report on this important workshop held in Oxford, UK, July 2 and 3, 2001, hosted by Oxfam. The workshop dealt with current food aid standards, different approaches to food security in emergencies including food economy, and livelihoods approaches and early warning systems. These discussions took place in the context of the Sphere Project, the first collaborative initiative to produce globally applicable minimum standards for humanitarian response.
