Inter-agency Coordination Mechanisms
The Chief Executives Board and its subsidiary mechanisms take into account the many coordination and inter-agency networks already in existence. These groups do not fall under the hierarchical structure but may be classified by their sphere of activity.
UNEG was established in January 1984 as the Inter-Agency Working Group on Evaluation (IAWG). During the 80's and 90's, the IAWG served as an informal group made up of the Heads of evaluation offices who met annually to discuss evaluation issues. The UNSPN was set up in 2007 as an informal network of strategic planning and results-based management practitioners across the UN System. The group has held 10 annual meetings since. It is composed by more than 230 members (of which 56% of women) from about 45 organizations.
