The United Nations has long recognized that the imagination, ideals and energies of young women and men are vital for the continuing development of the societies in which they live. The Member States of the UN acknowledged this in 1965 when they endorsed the "Declaration on the Promotion among Youth of the Ideals of Peace, Mutual Respect and Understanding between Peoples".

Inter-Agency Network of Facilities Managers (INFM) 23.02.2017

The Inter-Agency Network of Facilities Managers is composed of United Nations system-wide collaborative team of professionals, with representatives from the United Nations, Regional Commissions, Funds and Programmes, specialized agencies and the Bretton-Woods institutions, who meet annually to discuss common issues within facilities management and share experiences from different duty stations around the world.

The Inter-Agency Standing Committee Taskforce on HIV in Humanitarian Situations 23.02.2017

The IASC Taskforce on HIV in Humanitarian Situations was established in March 2007 to assess the implementation of the IASC Guidelines on HIV/AIDS in Emergency Settings and update them along with accompanying training materials, as well as to strengthen and harmonize the monitoring and evaluation of HIV interventions in humanitarian situations. The Task Force is composed of UN agencies, NGOs consortia, IOM and the IFRC and meets on a quarterly basis. It is co-chaired by the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) and a rotating representative of the non-UN membership.

The United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD) was organized in pursuance of General Assembly Resolution 64/236 (A/RES/64/236), and took place in Brazil on 20-22 June 2012 marking the 20th anniversary of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), in Rio de Janeiro, and the 10th anniversary of the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) in Johannesburg.
