UN Climate Neutral Strategy

The Strategy for a climate-neutral UN was approved at the Annual Meeting of the Environment Management Group in October 2007 (EMG/AM.07/06/Rev.2).

This paper outlines a strategy for making UN agencies, funds and programmes climate-neutral.

It includes an overview of the basic steps that need to be taken, including in areas where there is agreement on a common approach and methodology. It identifies the elements or criteria necessary for ensuring the highest standards possible for attaining a credible climate-neutral approach. It also lists areas where additional work will be required as the UN moves into the implementation phase.
